CAD drawings for what appears to be the iPhone 16 Pro have recently leaked online, offering consumers a glimpse of what Apple’s forthcoming flagship might look like.
According to tech news site 91mobiles, the smartphone would resemble the iPhone 15 Pro, with a few noteworthy modifications. First and foremost, the 16 Pro is expected to be slightly larger than the existing model, measuring 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4 mm. According to the website’s industry sources, the display will be 6.1 inches. There is a difference here, as prior leaks indicate the mobile gadget will have a 6.3-inch screen. However, 91mobiles leans more toward the larger display due to the newly published dimensions and the fact that the renders seem slimmer bezels around the glass.
The most significant change identified in the files is the addition of the suspected Capture Button, which will be situated below the power button on the right side. If you’re unfamiliar with the Capture Button, it’s designed to make it easier for users to capture better images. You will not need to tap the screen to take it.
The exact capabilities of the Capture Button have long been unknown, but a January report provides some insight. Lightly clicking the Capture Button causes the camera to focus, while a full push snaps a photo, similar to the shutter button on a standard camera.
Keeping the best
On the back, the rear camera array appears to retain the same three-lens configuration as the iPhone 15 Pro. Normally, this wouldn’t be big news, but another report from February stated Apple was ditching the round camera platform in favor of a triangular one. People expected this to be the new design going forward. However, it appears that Apple may be staying with its tried-and-true appearance.
According to 91mobiles, the “iPhone 16 Pro is expected to gain a 5X tetraprism telephoto camera”. The iPhone 15 Pro Max features the same type of lens, and the photographs it takes are spectacular. It is unknown whether the 16 Pro will feature optical picture stabilization. The technology is not mentioned in the leak. Presumably, it will, as zoomed-in images benefit immensely from strong stability. Other probable iPhone 16 Pro features include a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 3,355mAh battery.
Every September, Apple organizes a large event to introduce all of the new iPhone models. Six months from now, we should expect to see not only the iPhone 16 Pro, but also the fourth-generation iPhone SE and the Apple Watch X.
