Season 4 of The Boys will be available on Prime Video in 2024, and a teaser may be forthcoming.

What a diabolically fantastic day!

Season 3 spoilers for The Boys follow.

It’s official: Season 4 of The Boys will be available on Prime Video in 2024.

The Boys’ official account confirmed the return of the smash Prime Video series next year in a post on X (previously Twitter). Season 4’s first two posters, which portray Anthony Starr’s Homelander as a famed Supe (well, ‘celebrated’ as in ‘fearfully revered by the public’) and Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher looking quite lonely among balloons and confetti littering the ground, made the announcement.

There’s a lot we can deduce from the posters’ iconography, such as Billy maybe spending most of season 4 alone with his thoughts. After all, as we discussed in our The Boys season 3 ending explained post, Butcher discovered he only had 12 to 18 months to live after being exposed to experimental super-serum V24, so it’s a suitable one sheet for the Supe-fighting group’s de facto leader.

But hold on, there’s more. A still image of Urban’s Butcher is accompanied by the text “Big day, lots to do” in another post on The Boys’ different social media sites.

Is the first teaser for the fourth season of the hit R-rated program going to drop? Perhaps. Principal photography commenced soon after The Boys season 4 was revealed to be in development in June 2022. Filming completed in April, thus a teaser, even if it’s only 30 seconds long, may be broadcast today (November 8).

Alternatively, we could get some new casting information, a quick plot explanation, or another major announcement. For starters, The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan was reported to join the cast of The Boys season 4 in August 2022, so Amazon may choose to reveal his character today instead.

We’ve contacted Prime Video to see what additional surprises are on the way, and we’ll update this piece if we hear back.

Season 4 of The Boys has obviously raised fan expectations. Since its launch in July 2019, the Eric Kripke-created TV adaptation of the iconic comic book series has gone from strength to strength as one of the top Prime Video shows. And, with Kripke announcing that season 4 will not be the series’ final installment, we can expect even more hijinks in The Boys universe after the fourth season is aired.

Indeed, a second season of Gen V, the first live-action spin-off set in this universe, is already in the works. The season 1 finale of Generation V also opened up some potentially major plot strands for The Boys’ next episode, so be sure to read our Generation V season 1 ending explained guide to discover more about what’s at stake in the main series. With the possibility of more unnamed spin-off projects or a second season of animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, The Boys’ TV universe isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
